Rain Postpones Kutztown's NAPA Dutch Classic to August 10

Kutztown Fair Speedway officials, watching light rain become heavier and checking weather radar that was suddenly filled with the color green, threw in the towel just about the time their Wednesday evening program was scheduled to begin.

The NAPA Auto Parts Dutch Classic was postponed until next Wednesday, August 10, and the speedway's management had a little "gift" for the racers who made the trip to the fairgrounds, only to get wet.

The pill pull from August 3rd will be valid next week, as will the pit pass wristbands (note: wristbands must be used on August 10; they will not be valid during Fair Week on August 16, 17, and 18). The numbers drawn by drivers will be used on August 10. Any drivers who were not present on the 3rd, but show up to race on the 10th will start behind those who signed in and pulled numbers before the rains came on Wednesday.
A long list of sponsors will return to lend their support to the Dutch Classic on August 10.

Heading the list is title sponsor NAPA Auto Parts, boasting an impressive array of stores in and around Berks and Lehigh counties, along with North Jersey. Those stores have combined to support the Dutch Classic at Kutztown.

The NAPA stores in Kutztown and Boyertown will team up to offer $25 Halfway Leader Bonuses in all four divisions' feature races on Wednesday. Drivers leading their respective features on lap 10 in the Wingless 600cc and Winged 270cc Micro-Sprint divisions, as well as the Xcel Sportsman Modified leader on the tenth circuit, will each receive the bonus. The All Star Slingshot race leader on lap 15 will earn the bonus money.

Slingshot heat winners will receive $25 and gift certificates from RPM New & Used Slinger Parts.

Kim's Kreations will reward the Hard Charger and Hard Luck Driver with $30 and a hat.

The driver who turns the quickest lap in time trials gets an award from S&S Speedways.

The overall fast lap time - in racing action, not time trials - will reward a driver with $25 from Strapped In Racing Magazine.

Speedway Entertainment will present three gift certificates to be randomly awarded on race night.
