Conference aims for economic growth in upstate NY
Getting under way in Buffalo is aimed at improving the economy of upstate New York.The Accelerate Upstate summit is being billed as a community conversation involving stakeholders from around the region.
Organizers say the goal is to develop an action plan to accelerate priority projects and economic growth in areas losing population and lacking the political clout of downstate counterparts. The plan is expected to be released within six weeks of the conference, which wraps up Friday.
Buffalo Niagara Partnership President Andrew Rudnick says this conference won't rehash the region's challenges, but will instead concentrate on solutions.
